Looking forward to a busy June.
Three great opportunities to participate in charities coming up
Don’t Forget to Feed Me is near and dear to my heart. This organization is getting bigger each year and supports pets and people in need. Please see the donation list on the website under Upcoming Events. Bring the food, items, and/or money to the June membership meeting.
Tarrant Area Food Bank, June 25th.
Cooks Children’s Group Visit, July 24th.
Spring Auto Cross is June 6th and 7th. Join in the excitement of auto crossing. If you don’t want to race, working at the event is exciting too. Please see the flyer, registration, and volunteer links to sign up on the website.
Thanks to Lee Ann for obtaining and coordinating the drawing for the Four Person Pass to TX Whiskey Ranch. Proceeds will go to the Southwest Region Scholarship Fund and CTV’s Charity fund. $1.00 each, 6 for $5.00, or 25 for $20.00. We had a great time at the TX Whiskey Ranch a few months ago. I hope I win!
Reminder to start buying candy for the 4th of July Parade too. Also, decorations for your car. This will be a grand celebration!
Have a Corvette item, part(s), car, etc. to sell. See the new Classified Ads section on the new website. As of now, nothing is listed. Now that it’s warm and getting our cars out more, you may come across an item you want to sell. This is a great opportunity.
Let me know what your favorite food item you have eaten or drank at Sickie’s Garage.
Please be sure to RSVP to the meeting, see email from James.

We had a beautiful day for our May social! The sun was out (and tops were down!) convertible tops that is!!! We cruised to Cassero Winery in Ovilla Tx.
Doug took us on a wonderful tour through the county side. We had 18 Members cars & 5 visitor’s cars on the cruise. We had 2 more cars join us for the car show, for a grand total of 25 cars and 41 people! Everyone had a great time.
June will be here before you know it. Our club will be hosting NCCC Spring Autocross on June 6 & 7th a Burleson ISD Stadium, 100 Elk Dr. Burleson, TX 76028.
We will be setting up the track on Friday June 5th starting at 5 p.m. Our club puts on the Very Best Autocross in the Southwest Region! We always need our members to help out with various tasks. If you have not ever experienced an autocross, please consider getting involved. We need all levels of helpers. James Swaringen will have all the details.
This is the schedule:

After a private showing of F-1 the movie, we will be visiting a small car museum in Clifton. On the way home we will stop for dinner in Meridian, TX.

Hi Everyone,
Membership stands at 112 members!
At the last meeting, I gave a report about the three items we voted on at the last Governors Meeting. One of those items, SR-2026-004-V3, I told you it failed. Since then, our emails have been inundated with (mostly negative) comments about the vote. It seems that Robert’s Rules, which we are supposed to follow, were NOT followed. At the meeting, the vote was 105 Yes, 52 No, and 42 Abstained. The standing rule change has to pass by two thirds. It was determined that out of 199 votes, there were only 105 Yes votes (not 2/3) and the measure failed. However, Roberts Rules were not followed! Roberts Rules states that when there is a two-thirds vote required, abstentions are not counted. Therefore the measure PASSED, 105 Yes to 52 No. It passed by ONE vote!
This standing rule was the one that offered half price MAL memberships to first-time Corvette buyers from a 2nd tier (used) car dealer that sells at least 10 Corvettes a year. If you have any questions, please contact me.
Cowtown’s first autocross event of the year is the 6th Annual Larry Hoaldridge Memorial Event on June 6 and 7. This year it is being held at the Burleson High School parking lot. The flyer can be found here: http://www.ncccswregion.org/2026/SW-055-011.pdf
James has sign-up sheets going around, if you are willing to help.
June 13 is the ‘Cruzin the Arbuckles’ event at Ardmore. This year, it’s a one-day event, with one car show, five funkhanas and one chance rallye. The event flyer can be found here: http://www.ncccswregion.org/2026/SW-131-011.pdf .
Flyers for all upcoming events are online in the SW Region calendar.

If you have not rec’d your 50th Anniversary Cowtown Vettes commemorative Deck of Playing Cards, please attend the next Membership Meeting and see me. Each primary member / household receives one deck of cards. I’ll bring a few decks on the next cruise as well. If you’d like an extra set (or two), see me as well, we did purchase extra decks of cards- these are $5 per deck.
We will have the Events, Socials and such in the next Slideshow. The slideshow will continue to include some Corvette Trivia along with various other Corvette happenings around the country.
Please provide any submissions for the slideshow to me no later than Sunday evening of the Membership Meeting week.
If you have been working on or updating your Corvette with new items …or if you have taken a trip in your Corvette and have some photos to share with membership, please send those to me and I’ll include them in the monthly slideshow. Cowtown’s Microsoft O365 account allows us to use OneDrive, which makes it much easier for you to provide high-resolution photos from events for the web and/or monthly slideshow. If you would like to share photos, please take them in high-resolution; if not, they can’t be used on the big screen since they would show grainy / blurry. These are needed by noon, the Monday before the Membership Meeting. If you have questions, please contact me and I’ll provide you with more information and the OneDrive link to share your photos – basically use the highest resolution option you can set on your camera or smartphone.
When you receive a CTV-ALL eMail blast, we would request that you please only reply to the originator when you are replying to a CTV-ALL email. When you opt to reply, simply select Reply on the email, then remove the CTV-All entry and replace it with the email address of the originator. If you are sending CTV-ALL emails, please include your email address in the body of the email so you have that address handy.
If you change your email or home address, Corvette, or other info – please drop an email to ann.walker@charter.net
If you are not receiving CTV-ALL emails, please get with me so we can either add you or figure out why you aren’t receiving them.
More information on email distribution lists and the acceptable use of them can be found on our website.
Facebook – if you are on Facebook and not a “friend” of Cowtown Vettes, members cannot include you in tags at events; these tags show your non-club member friends all the fun we are having. Who knows, maybe some of you are in the witness protection program and don’t want to be tagged J If you are posting, be sure to tag Cowtown Vettes so it appears on our Facebook news feed.

Hello Cruisers
Looks like summer has finally arrived and maybe now the stormy weather will suicide for awhile. So now it's cruising time.
My current plans are to do a cruise South and East of Waco. Will have the details by our club meeting at Sickies so plan to attend.
Because the club racing event is June 6th and 7th and with the 4th of July parade, I probably will cruise on either the 20th or 27th of June. I'll keep all informed by meeting time and by email.
As always be on the lookout for a special place for your ' what I saw along the way ' picture and keep on collecting your Cruiser Points.
Looking farther ahead, Larry Schaapveld will be leading a cruise to Clifton for a special movie event on July 11th. Larry will have all the details for this one.
That's all for now, so lets all ' save the wave ' and I'll see you guys June 3rd.

CHARITY ARTICLE
June
Hi everyone,
Tony Sokoloski was the lucky winner of our 50/50 drawing last month. Congratulations, Tony! The other half of the money collected will help feed people who are food insecure and provide support children who have lost someone close to them. Thank you all for your contributions!
Our next Charity event will be at the June membership meeting, where Debbie Sharpe from Don’t Forget to Feed Me Pet Food Bank will be collecting our pet food donations. Please bring cat and dog food to the June meeting according to the guidelines below. If you are unable to bring pet food to the meeting or would rather make a monetary donation, please contact Debbie Lindsey or Paula Winter.
The mission of Don’t Forget to Feed Me (DF2FM) is to supply pet food to local agencies in support of pet owners while educating the public about pet food insecurity. By providing pet food for those in need during challenging financial times and increasing awareness, they offer an alternative to surrendering - or worse, abandoning - a family pet. Don’t Forget to Feed Me helps to ensure that no pet owner must choose between stay or go. DF2FM is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Fort Worth.
The following is a list of the items Don’t Forget to Feed Me can accept:
• Canned dog and cat food - any brand, any variety (including recently expired and damaged products)
• Dry dog and cat food - any brand, any variety (including recently expired and damaged product)
• Gallon-size Ziploc-style bags
They cannot accept:
• Carriers/kennels/crates
• Leashes/collars
• Litter boxes/litter
• Pet grooming supplies (non-medicated)
• Toys
• Beds
• Medications (prescription and over-the-counter)
• Flea/tick prevention
• Medicated shampoos/conditioners
• Bird houses
• Fish tanks/supplies
Mark Your Calendars! We have been busy scheduling Charity activities for Cowtown Vettes members for the near future. Here is what is coming up:
Don’t Forget to Feed Me!: June membership meeting
Tarrant Area Food Bank: Thursday, June 25th, 1 - 4 pm
Cook Children’s Group Visit: Friday, July 24th, 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

Corvette Racing had its hands full this weekend. Between the IMSA contest at Long Beach on April 18th, 2026 and the FIA World Endurance Championship at Imola on April 19th, The Bow Tie Brand brought its best racers to the grid.
And that worked out perfectly for the No. 33 Corvette Z06 GT3.R, which finished in second place when the checkers fell.
Nicky Catsburg, Jonny Edgar, and Blake McDonald raced from mid-pack back toward the front, gaining a whopping 12 positions from the drop of the green flag.
With a little more time, they could have raced all the way to the front, but as it were, the Corvette Racing trio never got the chance to dethrone the GT3 class-winning BMW.
Catsburg took the wheel with one hour, 40 minutes left on the clock. He nudged back into P2 with just over a half hour left and cut the BMW’s three-second lead to just 0.265 seconds at the line, proving that the No. 33 Corvette Racing team had a phenomenal race car under them.
“First WEC race and first WEC podium,” said McDonald. “I think we had the victory and the car to win and we had the pace as well. A couple of little mishaps put us in P2 but I can’t complain too much about that. Starting from P14 and getting up to P2, leading the race for a portion… Jonny did such a good job and Nicky did such a good job. I couldn’t be more proud.”

May 22, 2026 • Hannah Shepherd
On August 12, 1957, a 25-year-old named Bill Hatch walked into Bates Chevrolet in Arcadia, California and drove home in a brand-new 1957 Corvette. He has owned that car every single day since. This August 12th, he'll have owned it for exactly 69 years — and if everything goes according to plan, he'll be a Guinness World Record holder before the afternoon is over.
Bill married his sweetheart Marylyn on June 22, 1962, and the Corvette was there for that too — it was the honeymoon car. They've been married 64 years. They moved to Carlsbad, California in 1970 and have been there ever since, the same city where they'll celebrate the record attempt this August. Some things just stay put.
The car itself is what the Corvette community calls a true survivor. It has never been stored, never been restored, and has been continuously registered in the State of California since the day it was purchased new. The original engine, drivetrain, body, and interior are all intact — along with almost all of the original component parts. That matters enormously, because the Guinness World Record for "Longest Ownership of a Vehicle from New" has a current holder: Harold Lehman of Indiana, who bought a 1956 Chevrolet 210 on August 30, 1956, and owns it to this day at 67 years and 314 days. Lehman's car was stored for 49 years before being restored. Bill's Corvette has never stopped. The North Coast Vettes Corvette Club of Carlsbad has applied to Guinness on Bill's behalf, received approval of their application on February 7, 2026, and are organizing a full record-smashing event to make it official.
The 1957 Corvette was already a landmark car before Bill ever bought one. 1957 was the first year fuel injection was ever offered on a Corvette — the Rochester Ramjet Fuel Injection system — and the first year for the optional 4-speed transmission. Chevrolet's ads boasted "one horsepower per cubic inch," a milestone that had never been achieved in American automotive history. Only 6,339 were produced that year, making each one a piece of the moment when the Corvette stopped being a stylish two-seater and became a genuine American performance car. Bill bought his in black with a red interior, and if the photos are any indication, it still looks exactly the way it should — white wall tires, chrome hubcaps, and 69 years of stories behind the wheel.
The record attempt is open to the public. The North Coast Vettes Corvette Club will host "Birthday Party for a 1957 Corvette" at The Shoppes at Carlsbad on August 12, 2026 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, in the parking lot on the west end of the shopping center. Bill and Marylyn will be there with the car, along with their family, North Coast Vettes members, the Mayor and council members of the City of Carlsbad, local Corvette clubs, and anyone from the community who wants to be part of history. There will be a DJ, speeches, photo opportunities, and a birthday cake. Admission is free. If you're anywhere near Carlsbad, California on August 12th — this is worth showing up for.

“The mission of the National Corvette Museum is to educate worldwide
audiences on the evolution of the Corvette --America’s Sports Car-- through collections, preservation, and celebration of its legacy.”
At the museum’s 31st anniversary celebration that was just held on August 28 - 30, 2025, Zora Arkus - Duntov’s, only Corvette, fully restored was debuted. Who, you ask, is Zora Arkus - Duntov? Depending on where you read he is referred to as either the “Father of the Corvette” or the “Godfather of the Corvette” although Harley Earl was the original designer of the Corvette. After seeing the 1953 Corvette on display in New York City, Arkus - Duntov wrote General Motors that he found the car “visually superb, but was disappointed with what was underneath”. He went to work at GM in May of 1953 as a staff engineer with the idea of changing that perception and was “pivotal in elevating the Corvette into a world class performance vehicle”. The only Corvette Arkus - Duntov owned was a retirement gift from Chevrolet. You can read more about his life and work on the museum’s website or other online sources.
For the latest on museum happenings you can go to the website for info. Museum members can log onto the website for more news and info. As always the museum offers car raffles, NCM insurance, shopping and event info as well as article about exhibits.

The Spring Scramble was a great success. Thank you to everyone who helped and participated. Photos of the Event
It's now officially time to gear up for the Spring Autocross event, as it is coming up quickly. June 6 and 7th. I am excited about our new venue at the Burleson Stadium parking lot—it promises an excellent course layout to maximize the fun.
If you've never participated in an Autocross before, I sincerely hope this is the year you come out and give it a try.
Autocross does not have to be about top speed; it's about precision, car control, and the thrill of cornering. You don't have to push your Corvette to its absolute limit to have a lot of fun. In fact, many of the most enjoyable aspects of Autocross come from learning the limits of your vehicle—and your own driving skills—at moderate, accessible speeds. It's the perfect driving sport for any Corvette owner, regardless of their experience level, and a fantastic way to meet fellow enthusiasts who share a passion for driving their cars as they were intended.
We could also use your help if you do not want to race. Please reach out so we can discuss how you can help. Thank you for your support. Volunteer to Help

April 2026 At our membership meeting on April 8th Cowtown Vettes will celebrate 52 years of existence!
In April of 1974 a group of people met together to enjoy their shared passion for America’s sports car. The only one of that original group that is still active today with CTV is Jerry Lindsey.
The group which started with about 20 members grew to sometimes over 200 members… as with all things that changed after 2020 and the Covid Pandemic, our numbers are not as large as they once were, but we are still going strong. We have a variety of activities hoping to provide the proverbial “something for everyone”.
In addition to our monthly business meeting we have NCCC events…ie autocross and drag racing and scrambles, car shows, cruising..ie seeing the countryside in our Corvette, charity events, and socials.
Come out and enjoy our history and our future. “We came for the cars, but we stay for the people”
